Only 200 days left before the 1st Caribbean Games in history !
The Organizing Committee - Guadeloupe 2022 - is pleased to be able to count on the massive adhesion of the members of CANOC (Association of Caribbean National Olympic Committees).
28 of the 29 member countries have sent their estimates of delegations. Despite the quota of 800 athletes announced and known by all, more than 1000 athletes are now pre-registered.
In the coming weeks, the Organizing Committee, with the support of the technical delegates of the sports on the program, will work with the delegations to validate only the registration of qualified teams (Basketball 3x3, Futsal, Netball) and athletes who have achieved the minimums in the sports that require it (athletics, swimming).
This is a sign that, despite the health situation that has not spared the Caribbean region, major sporting events are still of great interest to our neighboring countries, which also wish to offer the youth of our region a historic meeting !
The Junior Pan-American Games in Cali, which ended on December 5, are another example. The Caribbean was represented there in force with notably Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic all present in the TOP 15 of medals.
A delegation from the Guadeloupe Organizing Committee was present, as an observer to properly prepare this historic June 2022 Rendezvous !
